Shaping a new career path

“After studying in Cameroon, I came to France to learn more about supply chain management. However, I decided to change fields and focus on hospitality following advice from a friend. Working in this sector brings together my different skills including interpersonal abilities and fluency in French, English and German. Through a partnership between my school and B&B HOTELS, I had the opportunity to interview and be hired as a trainee receptionist.

I didn’t have any previous experience in the role. My colleagues were great and supported me, making it very easy to adapt. After three months, I was allowed to handle the reception on my own.  I now feel comfortable welcoming guests and answering any questions before, during and after their stay. I’ve developed and reinforced different skills, from empathy and active listening to teamwork and autonomy.

The two-year training course has taught me a lot. B&B HOTELS is a growing company that offers lots of different opportunities.
